Hold it. Jedward are out? #
Even worse, Jedward are out and we're using it for a childish poster. Why? What are we trying to say? #

Weekly wrap-up, 27 November

5:55pm, 27th November 2009

Campaigning
I’m not sure why but it seems like campaigning seems to be taking up more and more time, although looking through the diary we’ve been keeping up a fairly stiff pace through the summer months. It is perhaps the onset of darker and considerably colder nights makes an evening on the doorstep seem a [...]

Putney Festive Market

2:41pm, 27th November 2009

The next of Wandsworth’s town centres to start getting the festive spirit is Putney, who are holding their annual festive market today.
The event starts at 3pm, with the Christmas lights turned on at 6pm by Paralympian and TV presenter Ade Adepitan MBE.
The market and events all take place in Church Square, near the northern end [...]

Wandsworth’s public art

2:33pm, 25th November 2009

One of the interesting things about blogging is the little things it throws up.
My post about the Battersea Park Act of Remembrance prompted an email about the state of the statue which, in turn, prompted discussion about the way the council ‘advertises’ the public art.
While we have various various publications about heritage trails around the [...]

Investment in Clapham Junction?

11:50am, 24th November 2009

I commented on the £50 million investment for 10 stations, including Clapham Junction, at the end of last week.
Since then I’ve been trying to find more details. But I’ve failed. There just don’t seem to be any details out there. The best I’ve managed to find is on Martin Linton’s website is a suggestion [...]

Majorities, polls and the election

2:06pm, 23rd November 2009

For those that like symbolism today is just 164 days until the (or a) likely date of the general election.
While Brown could wait until 3 June next year – and there have been rumours that 25 March might be the date – for a long time the main betting seems to have been on a [...]

Jedward and the Conservatives

12:02pm, 23rd November 2009

The Conservatives are using their digital media sites to display a poster capitalising on the end of Jedward. (Actually, they are probably also astutely aware that they will get far more coverage using just a few poster sites and having a viral campaign as lots of people blog, tweet and email about their poster.)
And [...]
