I don&#039;t think the show-up-and-not-do-anything model is much use.  If they&#039;re going to show up, they need to be prepared to investigate, eg by taking fingerprints.  I was lucky, when a burglar broke into my house &amp; I chased him off, the police took fingerprints, ID&#039;d him, and he went to jail.  That should be routine, for car break-ins too.]]></description>
