Wandsworth Conservatives have published a short video as part of the current election campaign – I’ve included it here since I am, after all, one of their candidates!
Another video from the council, this time of Leslie MacDonnell explaining the decision to reject the Springfield Hospital planning application.
A good decision by the Planning Applications Committee, and again I’m pleased that the council is exploring things like YouTube to communicate – although I am starting to feel very left out without my own video.
(I am not intending to put every council video on this post, but do feel I should promote them in the early days.)
I’ve blogged and Tweeted at length about the council tax setting, and I’m aware that there’s only so many ways that you can announce we’re keeping tax at last year’s levels…published a YouTube video of Maurice Heaster, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Corporate Resources talking about the announcement. I’m really pleased, not just because of the council tax, but because it’s the start of some experimentation with other ways of communicating. It doesn’t have Hollywood production values (this is Wandsworth) but here it is:
It also prompts me to think about publishing a video I started doing some weeks ago about the council’s crime priorities. I’ll have to dig it out and see if I can re-watch without cringing!
Forgive the 1980 film reference, but it seems that Gordon Brown really does think he’s Flash Gordon – the next stage will be Brian Blessed leading troops of winged warriors into our high streets to increase consumer spending.
