Would have liked another week to rest my Achilles’ tendon, but what’s the worst that can happen? About to start the Windsor Half Marathon.

Had somehow missed that Tweetbot had released v3 for Mac. Instinctively went to upgrade, then stopped. Twitter is trying to kill 3rd party apps and whole place is pretty grim now. Do I really need to pay more money for a scroll induced dopamine hit?

I had writer’s block when required to do some self-description at work. “You like laminating,” a colleague helpfully suggested.

I denied this vociferously but now I wonder if that’s how an intervention feels.

Still finding my way with micro.blog. I _want_ to like it and can see how I would but something is not quite clicking.

@macgenie Is there a reason there’s a 280 character limit on RSS feeds but not on micro.blog hosted accounts? I get the short posts, but it feels like it contradicts the “don’t hesitate to go over.” (I’m new here though, so perhaps I’m missing something.)

Opportunity Emerges in a Dusty Picture

NASA still hasn’t heard from the Opportunity rover, but at least we can see it again.

A new image produced by HiRISE, a high-resolution camera aboard NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), shows a small object on the slopes of the Red Planet’s Perseverance Valley. That object is Opportunity, which was descending into the Martian valley when a dust storm swept over the region a little more than 100 days ago.

I can’t help feeling disproportionately sad about the little fellow, all alone up there, losing touch in a dust-storm with no-one to turn to.

I think I anthropomorphise too much.

If I’ve any complaint about the ‘In Our Time’ podcast repeat of the Hannah Arendt episode it’s that they should repeat it more often.

Of the various features in iOS 12 Measure has been my undoing as I obsessively search for things to, well, measure.
