Last time I was ill my days were intense daytime TV therapy. This time my waking day is about 5 hours in the evening and I still feel terrible five days in.

My natural experiment finds a correlation between This Morning and recovery.

Thank you for reading my paper.

I dip into Twitter infrequently to see what it’s like. Its current incarnation appears to be ‘feed of how Tories are evil and unfeeling’.

I have made my very first iOS widget in Scriptable and, aware the script’s simplicity and shortcomings but suffering from the IKEA effect, must now share it so the world can marvel at my skills.

Got a negative Covid result today which seems to have a bit more of a rarity value than it did not so long ago. (Although it feels inevitable there’ll be a positive in the house sooner or later.)

At a time like this I’d rather a PM with principles and credibility showing leadership than Johnson indulging Churchillian oratory with all the talent of a tired baboon.

pi-hole dashboard showing 12.7% of queries were blocked

Finally got round to setting up pi-hole. Less than a day in and I’m fascinated by the data, not just the amount blocked (one-eighth!), but also what’s making those calls. Does my TV really need to call home every few minutes?

There are two things that concern me about the current (non) lockdown:

  1. Johnson just cannot take the hard decisions but foists it on others to make the hard decisions about cancellations and closures.
  2. I don’t have enough booze stockpiled for 14 days self-isolation.
